It’s approaching that time of year again when the CRNS team is busy pulling together the pivotal event in our events calendar, our Annual Conference 2020!
This year it will be a bit different in that we are embracing the virtual world of meetings and events and pivoting this one to be fully digital. The conference, ‘A Fairer Scotland, A Greener World’, is being run over 2 mornings on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th November 2020 and on the third day we will host our AGM (Wednesday 19th). Please save the dates for the time being and an invite to register will be with you soon.*
We are delighted to be welcoming back Dr Heather Reid, OBE (Heather the Weather as she has been affectionately known) to host the event and we have a fantastic programme lined up which will encompass keynote speakers, member spotlights and breakouts.
We are excited to feature the Scottish Wildlife Cameraman Doug Allan, who will talk about marine biology, diving and filming at the poles, and how climate change is affecting these regions of the earth.
There will be a digital Market Place ‘The Expo’ where delegates can connect with different exhibitors and there will also be various types of networking opportunities from the more formalised automated match up, to informal options such as text bars, private message and video chats.
This event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors and we wish to say a very big thank you to our headline sponsor Zero Waste Scotland, our event sponsors Keegan & Pennykid Insurance Brokers, Keenan Recycling, WasteSwitch and our IT sponsor Kudos Software.
Our conference as always will aim to engage, inspire and unite delegates and this year more than ever travel, time away from home (for those living in the furthest corners of Scotland) and even modest costs will not be a barrier to attending. Managers and senior staff please consider encouraging your staff, board members and volunteers to register.
This dedicated third sector event for Scotland’s reuse, repair and recycling sector will enable you to engage digitally with c140 other likeminded individuals. Delegates are primarily CRNS members, with stakeholders; local government personnel; funders and private organisations operating within the sector all habitually in attendance. Hear from sector specific key influential figures and keep up to date with what is happening strategically in Scotland’s resources sector.
Whilst navigating through such difficult and challenging times this year, we have seen many CRNS members deliver outstanding services and carry out remarkable work, to meet the challenges that their own communities face. By coming together and acknowledging these extraordinary challenges, we will also commemorate the resolve and achievements that have been made by those members servicing the communities and people most in need. Together we can aim for a fairer Scotland and in turn a Greener World.
* CRNS member tickets to this year’s digital conference are free, non-member tickets incur a nominal charge of £20 for the full event.
