ReJIG carries out a wide range of waste prevention and recycling activities on Islay and Jura. It offers a kerbside collection of cans, plastic drink and milk bottles, and operates a number of recycle banks on the islands for textiles, cans and plastic bottles.
People can donate and buy second-hand furniture, clothing and bric-a-brac ate its shop on Islay, or make use of the ReJIG collection and delivery service. Shredded paper is sold for animal bedding and biodiesel is produced from used cooking oil.
ReJIG also works with schools, the general public, local community recycling groups and businesses to further their waste reduction aims, and organises events such as beach clean-ups.
