As a member of the CRNS, your organisation will be part of a dynamic network stretching across Scotland that's focused on achieving a world where there is no waste only resources, and where people, communities and the environment are valued and respected. You can expect the following:
To be empowered and informed : knowledge is power and we aim to keep our members informed and up-to-date on issues around sustainability, managing waste resources, and environmental policy and legislation
Increased profile and awareness : the CRNS works to raise the profile of its members and increase awareness of their work among the general public and other key audiences
Increased engagement : membership of the CRNS provides and facilitates opportunities for greater engagement with other members and third parties (increasing partnerships, training, employment, volunteering, donations, sales)
Increased income : membership should provide your organisation with the opportunity to earn more income and secure greater investment
Increased savings : membership should provide your organisation with the opportunity to save money and reduce costs and overheads
Best practice and quality : membership should provide your organisation with the opportunity to be the best at what it does and be externally recognised for this achievement

The CRNS has three categories of membership (see below). If you have any questions regarding membership please contact the CRNS office.
To help you decide whether CRNS Full or Fledgling membership is appropriate for your organisation, please consider the following:
If one of the primary business activities of your organisation relates to handling or dealing with the waste and unwanted resources generated by OTHER businesses and organisations then CRNS membership IS appropriate for your organisation, subject to you meeting the eligibility criteria.
If your primary business activities are completely unrelated to waste and resource management and you are only concerned with YOUR OWN waste and resources then membership of the CRNS IS NOT appropriate for your organisation. You may wish to contact Zero Waste Scotland for advice on how to manage your resources more effectively.
Full membership is open to organisations based in Scotland engaged in community resource management and which are one or a combination of the following:
