Scottish Community Composting Seminar

The Scottish Community Composting Conference was a one-day event designed for organisations involved in or planning a community composting initiative and for Local Authority departments working in partnership with community composting organisations.

A varied and informative programme was put together. The morning plenary sessions included presentations from practitioners, intermediaries and statutory bodies on a range of subjects including composting in areas of high density housing and how community composting can become more financially viable.

In the afternoon there were workshops covering planning, setting up a project, Animal By-Products Regulations and Waste Management Licensing.
The workshops were be followed by an open session.

There were also several exhibitors and displays at the event.

The event was run as part of Compost Awareness Week.
