Past Open Days

 03 Mar 05 - GREAN and Mobius, Golspie, Highland

This Open Day was repeated twice – once in the morning and again in the afternoon. Delegates heard from both organisations and the CRNS Development Officer for the area. They then had a chance to see for themselves the facilities and the services and products that the organisations provided. Unfortunately since the Open Day Mobius has ceased trading.

25 Aug 05 - Second Opportunities and Spruce Carpets, Glasgow

These two organisations share premises. The Open Day was split into 3 parts. The first was the regular monthly meeting of the Glasgow Community Recycling Forum. The second part was a session aimed at service users and referral agencies where the delegates got a much better understanding of how the organisations operated. The final session was open to members of the public and other interested stakeholders.

26 Aug 05 - Furniture Project Perth, Perth

This Open Day was featured as part of the More Than Furniture Conference 2005 [insert hyperlink to MTF05]. Delegates were given a tour of the facility and an opportunity to see furniture reuse in action.

15 Sep 05 - HomeAid West Lothian, Bathgate

This open day was focused on exporting furniture to St Vincent De Paul in the US. Delegates were bale to see first hand furniture being packaged and loaded into a shipping container ready for transportation. In addition Terry MacDonald, the CEO of SVDP, was on hand to provide advice and information to the delegates. The delegates were also able to tour the HomeAid facility.
