Reuse House Makeover scrubs up beautifullyJune 11, 2010 The Reuse House Makeover in Edinburgh on 4th June was a great success. The interior design was directed by Clare Halliday from Castle Rock Edinvar (the housing association that provided the empty property) with help from Lorraine McCauley from the CRNS.Everyone who came to visit, including interior designer John Amabile from ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover who cut the ribbon to officially open the house, was hugely impressed by the look and the standard of paint, carpets, furniture and furnishings (provided by RePaint Scotland, Spruce Carpets, Edinburgh Furniture Initiative and Fresh Start - with toys from Good Green Fun). The event received great coverage in The Scotsman (which also mentioned Pass it on Day) and on STV's 6 o'clock news. The CRNS is completing a short film following the journey of the makeover and to promote reuse. In the meantime, there are some pictures from the event on the PIOD Flickr site. Enjoy! |
