The Scottish Waste & Resources Industry is seeking entries from organisations that have shown an outstanding  contribution, through best practice and innovation, to the Scottish waste, recycling and resource management sectors.

2008 Scottish Waste & Resources Awards (formally known as Eventful Scotland)

Deadline Extended To Midday, Friday, 5th September 2008

The purpose of the Scottish Waste and Resources Awards is to acknowledge, reward and celebrate those organisations that have shown an outstanding contribution, through best practice and innovation, to the Scottish waste, recycling and resource management sectors. This event provides an opportunity to network and meet key industry players and innovators from local authorities, private sector organisations, professional bodies and regulators across Scotland.

Award Categories:

•    Private Sector Award - This award is open to any private company operating in Scotland that can demonstrate best practice and innovation in the fields of waste, recycling and resource management.

•    Local Authority Award - This award is open to all Scottish Local Authorities that can demonstrate best practice and innovation in the fields of waste, recycling and resource management.

•    Community Sector Award - This award is open to any community based, not for profit organisation operating in Scotland that can demonstrate best practice and innovation in the fields of waste, recycling and resource management.

•    Partnership Award - This award is open to organisations that can demonstrate best practice partnership working in the fields of waste, recycling and resource management.

•    Non-waste Management Sector - This award will be presented to an organisation that is not directly involved in the waste, recycling and resource management industry that has shown a clear commitment to best practice and innovation in dealing with their waste.

How to Apply:

•    Entries should consist of a summary of no more than 500 words detailing why your organisation should win the relevant Award.

•    Please note that no supporting documentation will be considered.

•    Organisations can only submit one entry per category but are eligible to submit entries in more than one category.

Deadline for entries is Midday on Friday 5th September 2008.

The winners will be announced at the Scottish Waste and Resources Conference and Annual Dinner, which will be held at the Hilton Hotel Glasgow.
