Help boost Waste Aware Tourism campaignAugust 13, 2008 Waste Aware Scotland and the Cairngorms National Park Authority are launching a new 'Waste Aware Tourism' campaign in October 2008 and they need your business to help it succeed. The main aim of the campaign is to encourage businesses in the Cairngorms National Park area to boost awareness amongst tourists and employees of waste-related issues. David Bryan, CRNS, said: "This initiative is part of a wider partnership project between the Cairngorms National Park Authority, the CRNS and the private sector in the park. "Tourists in national parks often have raised expectations in terms of environmental performance. "By working together that we can help visitors and tourism businesses to reuse and recycle, and thereby create more opportunities for enterprise in this field. "The community sector already provides a range of services to accommodation providers and visitor attractions, including end of life furniture, textile and IT management services and there is potential for our sector to do much more." You can help the campaign by providing information about the available reuse and recycling facilities in your area to visitors, tourists and employees. The campaign will provide campaign materials such as leaflets and an online poster-creator tool on their website.
