Acclaim for Edinburgh Cyrenians in homelessness reportJuly 22, 2008
Edinburgh Cyrenians is described in the report as standing out "in a sector characterised by charities that are much "better-than-average"". The report continues to say that we have rarely "seen a charity more dedicated to developing and expanding its knowledge base" and that "underlying much of its success is a highly professional and committed management team." New Philanthropy Capital have chosen to recommend Edinburgh Cyrenians to donors in its latest report as an example of a charity that has a particularly positive impact in the field of homelessness and poverty by tackling the root causes, like unemployment, rather than the symptoms. Edinburgh Cyrenians Chief Executive, Des Ryan, said: "We are honoured to be recommended by such a highly respected organisation as NPC. "Over the past 40 years we have worked hard to make a difference. We have a proven track record of delivering innovative and effective services to those most in need. We have many more exciting plans to help build a more socially successful Scotland. I hope that NPC's recommendation will lead people who share this vision to our door." |
