BLFS have ring fenced £3m to projects within this particular area. They are looking for projects that enable people to think and plan ahead to match future needs and services experiment and innovate or looking at new ways to link services to changing needs pilot new ways of thinking. The keywords are collaboration and partnership in order to help designing future public services.

BLFS will fund projects that bring about change and improvement in support services delivery, collaborate with users and create demonstrable good practice. Funding can run up to five years, meet up to 100% of project costs and be both revenue and capital costs, with a grant range up to £1m. Outline proposal forms must be submitted by 24 October 2008, and the deadline for full submissions will be 1 May 2009 with decisions made by September 2009.
