Membership

The CRNS has recently revised its membership and as from 1 April 2008 there will be three categories of membership as outlined below. If you have any questions with regards membership please contact the CRNS Office.

Full Member

Full membership is this is open to organisations which are engaged in community recycling, composting, reuse or waste minimisation based in Scotland and which are one or a combination of the following:

    - Non profit distributing company (which may include a workers' co-op)
    - Registered Charity
    - Community Interest Company (CIC)
    - Industrial and provident society (which may include a workers' co-op)
    - Unincorporated association (with a written constitution and not for profit clause)

Fledgling

Fledgling membership is open to any organisation which intends to engage in community recycling in Scotland and which plans to become or already is any one or a combination of the legal structures as listed in Full membership above. Membership of this category is free for the first 12 months.

Supporter

This is open to any other organisation, including local authorities, agencies, organisations, second-tier not-for-profit networks or support organisations and companies (whether public sector, voluntary sector or private sector) which offer support to, or work with, organisations of a type which would fall within the criteria for Full or Fledgling Membership set out above and that supports the CRNS in achieving its Mission.

Fees

Membership of the CRNS is annual and runs from 1 April to 31 March. The fees for 2008-09 are:

    Full Member *                            £20 - £100
    Fledgling                                               £0
    Supporter (not-for-profit, charity)          £100
    Supporter (local authority, private
    company, public body)                       £150

* dependent on annual turnover
